The very name blog should just die. I read, when I have time, several blogs (sites) that simply inform me of whatever it is I need/want to know. As long as 'content is king' I will continue to read these sites - like this one for example.

My blog/site will die due to lack of relevent, interesting content. However, having had this experience for a couple of years I believe I can write with more focus on a particular subject.

I simply do not enjoy Twitter, Facebook or any of the social networking sites. This is not my thing to do, no matter how many bloggers tell me how they learned to love Twitter. For me it is an incredible waste of time, and frankly quite boring.

Any site with interesting, focused and informative content will do well. The blog as a personal web log has moved to 140 characters, or show and tell on Facebook.

First and for most, blogging is NOT dead, its more alive then ever.

Blogging will be around for years to come, but the blog does have to evolve into something more. I know for RaceDriven, I need to continue to develop the site beyond just a simple blog, it needs to include more.

I've looked at a Posterous account and it reminds me of a facebook in some ways, but everything really goes back to a blog.

As for a lifestream, that looks interesting if you can adapt it into your blog, getting rid of a blog for a Lifestream doesn't work in my eyes, but that's my opinion.

I just have to wonder, what will the future hold for blogging, lifestreams, home bases and beyond?

I don't accept the point that blogging is dead. It is still evolving. As for as Posterous is considered, it again looks like a typical blog only. And in fact, Posterous also has a blog.

Posterous looks like a Tumblr clone to me. They are both shiny and new services..but they dont fill a niche (atleast not to me). If I find an interesting link , i tweet it. If the link is really interesting, i might turn in into a full blog post by writing about the content at the other end of the link.
