A Classic Thanksgiving in 2008 – Football, Country Music, Motorsports, Cars, Writing and family.

As I sit here in my bedroom watching the Titans vs. the Lions, yeah what a game, keep in mind that going into today, the Titans were 10-1, while the Lions were 0-11, yeah that’s a good match up, but hay what are you going to do, its Thanksgiving and I am watching Football, sounds good to me, by the way, the score is 36-10 Titans at halftime. Personally I am a New England Patriots fan, when it comes to football for me, I will watch a game if I can and it really doesn’t matter the teams, although a Patriots game would be my first choose.

Anyway, first I would like to wish everybody a Happy Thanksgiving and a special Happy Thanksgiving to all of our troops. Today is a day to relax and give thanks, and on this day which started with getting up a 9am-10am to watch the Macy’s day parade on television, this year it was on CBS, because I wanted to watch Sugarland perform, I only got the chance to watch and listen to one song, but I like the song “Settlin’”, what a voice Jennifer Nettles has, that’s a good way to start Thanksgiving off in style.

Besides watching the Macy’s Day Parade, maybe a little bit of football, plus watching music videos, marathons on television and Jeff Dunham on DVD, today is about giving thanks and having a good thanksgiving dinner with family, in my case, it’s at home with my father. On this holiday, I have to not only watch what I eat, but how much I eat as I am trying to loss weight and I am doing a good job at it, seriously, this might be the first New Year’s resolution that I keep, I have already gone down a full pants size and feeling good regularly, that’s a start, that’s because of a good diet, now how about exercise...

But what’s for dinner? On Thanksgiving and Christmas, we pre-order our dinner fully cooked, so today it was my father going to pick it up dinner where ever he ordered it, it’s the classic Turkey dinner with stuffing, mashed potatoes, squash, dinner rolls, canned cranberry sauce (which I love), corn bread (I was kidding, but got it and its good), apple pie and ice cream…what a meal and I only had one plate, but wait, there’s still leftovers and that’s our dinner for tonight as we ate at noon time.

A couple of things that is huge in my life right now are, first is writing which is a way of life for me, it helps me not only get though the day and deal with the day, but express my feeling, have an opinion on any given topic from NASCAR to country music and television and express it softly, but still be heard.

Second is music, mainly country music, music is the simplest way for me to relax on or after any given day, my MP3 player highlights several artists including two of my favorites singers that I listen to most of the time, Taylor Swift and Carrie Underwood. I have all of their CD’s, oh and lady’s I’m 29, single and I treat people the way I would like to be treated. Besides listening to Carrie and Taylor, I listen to Garth Brooks, Julianne Hough (really getting into her music as of late including “My Hallelujah Song”), and Sugarland.

I also have singles from Trace Adkins, Rascal Flatts (favorite song is “Life is a Highway”), Katy Perry, Sara Evans, and more.

Third, I am a Motorsports and Car Enthusiast that loves NASCAR, I am working on several NASCAR articles for Racedriven.com over the off season, congrates to Jimmie Johnson on his three-peat (the 2008 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Champion).

Finally, this is a special thanksgiving for me and my family as my sister is about to get married to the love of her life next Saturday Night (Dec 6th), it’s a winter wedding, they have been planning this wedding since last August (2007), I might add, a week before my cousin’s wedding, which made me cry, he is a lucky man to have found her. I am so excited to finally see my sister get married, she has been waiting for this day for a long time and it proves that love is out there, you just have to find it.

Of course, now the family is looking at me, a message for them, when I find that special women that I want to sweep off her feet and love forever, that wants to love me forever and marry me, then I will get married, until then relax and enjoy life.

Life…what is commonly referred to as a Carnival ride (if you are a Carrie Underwood fan like I am, you know exactly what I just said).
