A few words on NASCAR in Martinsville

While Saturday’s Truck race was just plain boring with Mike Skinner dominating the entire race and winning, the same can’t be said for the Nextel Cup race. Racing in Martinsville is like what drivers say it is entertainment and it was.

Most Cup races do have that time when everything is long and drawn out and this race was no expectation, but after the rain delay, this race turned into a 150 lap sprint race on who had a better tires. This race is always know for its bumping and banging with just trying to pass someone that proved itself on the last 10 laps with Jeff Gordon fighting to pass the leader Jimmie Johnson for the victory, but despite trying everything including hitting from behind, even knocking Johnson into the wall and just plain roughing him up, Johnson still would not let his boss by and picked up the victory once again and all Gordon could do was get out of his Impala SS COT and be pissed off.

All I could say is after the checkered was thank god I don’t have to listen to Gordon’s victory lane interview.

Oh yeah, in answer to one person’s question, yes I am a Dale Earnhardt Sr. and Jr. fan, plus since I began watching NASCAR in the early 90’s, I am also a Rusty Wallace fan too. Think about that in context to Jeff Gordon and last lap passes at Bristol and Martinsville. And in answer to a person on WindTunnel, Gordon didn’t let Johnson win, he did try to wreck him to win.
