From NASCAR.com Article: NASCAR announced Tuesday that Carl Edwards, driver of the No. 60 Ford in the NASCAR Busch Series, has been fined $20,000 and placed on probation until December 31st due to a rule violation at Michigan International Speedway on Aug. 19. No points taken away.
Does the punishment fit the crime?
Simply put NO, it was a slap on the wrist and nothing more. I will refer you to my posting from last September's incident in the Busch Series race in Richmond "Gesture costs Truex Jr. 25 points, $10,000 ", what's the huge difference? I know all incidents are different, but wow.
